Dragon Maiden
An elven maiden stands atop the cliffs looking down into the valley of the dragons. In her blood mixed with that of elves, runs the blood of dragons, whose magic can allow them to take the form of humanoids, from which she was conceived. They are wise, intelligent, and powerful creatures, often misunderstood and feared for their size and ability to destroy. Yet these dragons are benevolent and even affectionate toward what they consider to be the fledgling races of their world. Here this maiden is welcome as the bridge between two worlds and trained in the ways of dragon magic.
This painting was originally painted as a present for a friend’s birthday, with watercolors and watercolor pencils on watercolor board in summer 2006.
