Sleeping Sun
This angel was done with a little influence from Van Gogh’s Starry Night. It is called sleeping sun, as though the angel were the sun, shrouded by her wings of night time, surrounded by the stars, with her hair composing clouds. I imagine her waking and beginning to glow, and stretching her arms like the first rays of dawn.
Painted in oils on canvas board and finished in 2005, this painting was created with a limited palette as a personal learning experiment.
