This oil on canvas painting was created after a trip to Scotland and is a personal favorite.
Journey’s End depicts a young woman, who has been away from home adventuring for a long time only to return and find her family and all that she knew is gone and her childhood home is in disarray.
The chill of abandonment and loneliness stings as much as the winter wind, but hope still remains with footsteps in the snow.
This painting, completed in 2000 is not only a personal favorite, but what some might consider a “work out of time” or a break through painting, as it was a huge leap from my previous ability.
