Alana Lionheart
This image was drawn in pencil from a picture of Alana Abbott, author of the first book I had the privilege of painting the cover and a dear sweet person. When I met Alana, I found her company pure delight as we signed and promoted the book Into the Reach at Gen Con in the White Silver Publishing booth. That night I had a dream about her and a mountain lion, so when I decided to draw a fantasy portrait of Alana, the mountain lion seemed the appropriate animal companion for the piece. Recently Alana began working with another publisher that I illustrate for, which is Margaret Weis Productions, so I look forward to working with her on more projects. Picture completed in 2006.
