After completing the Sisters of the Sky, I realized that there was a Sisters of the Sun but no Sisters of the Moon. Since there was a cat for the sun picture, it seemed to be appropriate to use a wolf for the moon. The figure’s face is half in shadow, in an attempt to be reminiscent of the moon itself. Also I liked the fact that the moon is supposed to represent the female qualities along with hidden traits. The water being dark, reflective, and hidden, with only a few reflecting lights, was much like the night sky itself with the female representation of the moon standing within it.
This painting was original created mostly with watercolors on watercolor paper in 2007 with digital enhancements.
